We all need feedback to improve, but most of us lack the tools to be able to give and receive feedback well. Taking a lesson from the arts, a critique is a useful tool to create healthy conflict. Heat can bring energy and life to work. By moving the implicit to the explicit, we can prepare ourselves for a different interpretation of our work or ideas with the intent to listen and grow but not always agree.

Lianne’s experience spans academia, industry, and art. As a lecturer in the Huntsman School of Business, she coaches future leaders on communication and leadership skills—teaching students how to create compelling presentations, craft credible writing, and use data to tell stories. Lianne’s interests lie in emerging and established technology and how visual design enhances user experience and retention.
